Andreas Tölke
Andreas Tölke (born June 21, 1960) is a German journalist and humanitarian activist. He is best known as the co-founder of Be an Angel e.V., an organization supporting refugees and providing humanitarian aid in crisis regions.
Tölke worked as a journalist for prominent magazines and newspapers such as Vogue, Icon, and Die Welt, where he interviewed international figures from the fields of art and culture, including Zaha Hadid, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Frank Gehry.
In 2015, he began hosting refugees in his home in Berlin and subsequently founded the non-profit organization Be an Angel e.V., dedicated to the integration and comprehensive support of refugees. One of the association’s key projects is the restaurant Kreuzberger Himmel, which offers apprenticeships and employment opportunities to refugees.
Since 2022, Be an Angel e.V. has been active in Ukraine, providing humanitarian assistance and organizing the evacuation of more than 24.000 Ukrainians from war-affected areas. Since than Tölke spends most of the time in Ukraine. He now also writes about these topics. Articles have been published in Frankfurter Allgemeinen, Jüdische Allgemeine, N-TV amongst others.
